-- Eye Worm --
· Updated:
Eye-burrowing worms are parasites that enter the human body through the eyes. A single eye-burrowing worm undergoes one parasitic cycle by differentiating into three forms: the membrane worm, the brain worm, and the spine worm. |
Before entering the body it takes the shape of a nematode; once inside, the entire body splits into four thin membrane-like sections that wrap around the host's eyeball — transparent as a contact lens. The host initially feels as though a foreign object has entered the eye, but vision remains normal. This stage is known as the "Membrane Phase".
